This document was prepared to provide background information on the mechanics of how we hear; a review of the anatomy and physiology of the ear; some key points to consider when assessing the ear; screening techniques for a sweep check hearing screen and a gross hearing assessment; and tips on troubleshooting hearing aid problems.
